  3. Good News Story – University Rugby Team Volunteers in Local Community!

Last week the SCP made front page news!

The Team were joined by the Leader of the Council, Cllr Kevin Guy, Cllr June Player (Westmoreland Ward), and 40 University of Bath rugby players to collect litter from several streets throughout Westmoreland.

The group collected 17 bags of litter from Millmead Road, West Avenue, South Avenue, Moorland Road, Crandale Road, Arlington Road, Canterbury Road, Shaftesbury Road Memorial Gardens, St Kilda’s Road, and Cynthia Road.

Cllr Guy explained “[he was] delighted to have been able to join in with the litter pick and see everyone come together for the benefit of the environment and the local community. Picking up litter s a quick way to instantly make a difference and I’d like to thank all the volunteers.”

A big thank you to our student volunteers, and special thanks to Cllr Guy and Cllr Player for helping keep #OurSharedCity cleaner and greener!

The SCP run monthly litter picks for students to get involved in, so check out our Instagram (@scpbath) or your University’s volunteering page to find out how to get involved next time!
