  3. SCP Attends B&NES’ Community Conversations

The SCP attended B&NES’ Community Conversations held at Twerton Village Hall last Thursday.

The Team were there to speak about how we can support both student and long-term residents in the local community whilst also learning about the services the Community Wellbeing Hub can provide. All residents can access support from the Hub on topics such as health and wellbeing, employment support and volunteering opportunities, energy information from their partners at the Centre for Sustainable Energy, housing advice, and mental health support from partners such as Bath Mind and Off The Record.

Community Warden, Joe, alongside several other residents benefitted from the NHS presence at the event by getting his flu jab! The Heart of Bath Medical Partnership offered free flu vaccinations to attendees and were highlighting the importance of staying up to date on vaccinations, particularly throughout the winter.

Age UK Bath & North East Somerset were showcasing the help they provide in the community, such as support around cold homes, volunteering and befriending opportunities, as well as a variety of social events and groups.

Avon Fire Rescue Service were also there to give demonstrations on checking your battery-operated smoke and fire alarms to ensure they are working correctly, and promoted their free Home fire safety visits for over 65s and young families.
